Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has posted an update on his fitness situation with a short Instagram clip of him at the club gym.
The 28-year-old has not linked up with Germany for the latest international break, with Arsene Wenger recently confirming he was struggling with a short-term knee injury.
Arsenal will hope to have Ozil back soon after barely being able to use him in recent matches, but he looks to be stepping up his recovery.
Ozil posted the update yesterday, showing him taking a short break from hitting the weights, with the simple caption: ‘gym’.
Wenger has not yet put a specific time frame on Ozil’s return, but played down the severity of the midfielder’s current problems.
Ozil’s absence from the side has also come amid growing speculation over his future, with the Germany international still not putting pen to paper on a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.
This has seen the former Real Madrid man linked increasingly strongly with a move to rivals Manchester United on a free next year.

A known favourite of United boss Jose Mourinho, Ozil could link up with his old manager at Old Trafford and attempt to get back to the kind of form he showed under the Portuguese at the Bernabeu.
Ozil left Real for Arsenal for £42million in 2013 but is widely viewed as having failed to live up to his price tag in north London.
