Arsene Wenger provided an update on injuries to Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck in the aftermath of Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat of Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Gunners trio played no part at the Emirates as goals from Nacho Monreal and Alex Iwobi either side of the break sealed the victory for the north London giants.

Wenger revealed that Koscielny (Achilles), Ozil (knee) and Welbeck (groin) will remain at the club during the international break as they continue their recoveries.

‘Some players will not go on international break,’ the Frenchman told the media following Arsenal’s win.

Arsenal head to Watford after the international break before hosting Crvena Zvezda in the Europa League and Wenger insists the season has only just begun.

‘Only seven games played, 31 to go. Last year after six games Manchester City was top with 18 points,’ he said.

‘Let’s not go to quick conclusions. It’s a long way to go.’
