Chelsea star Eden Hazard has dropped a massive hint that he’s set to play for Belgium versus Gibraltar on Thursday evening.
Hazard is yet to make an appearance for the Premier League champions in the English top flight this term and missed the side’s entire pre-season after undergoing ankle surgery earlier this summer.
Antonio Conte admitted he was ‘surprised’ at Hazard’s inclusion in Roberto Martinez’s squad for Belgium’s World Cup qualifiers against Gibraltar and Greece and the forward has confirmed that he is ready to return to action.
In the lead-up to the first clash, Hazard said: ‘I’m looking forward to play against Gibraltar.’
Belgium boss Martinez has already confirmed that there is a strong chance of Hazard playing against Gibraltar at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne.
He stated: ‘Where Eden is is that every day we get a bit more information. That’s how we’re going to treat the situation.
‘Eden played a game that was very, very important for me to see if he was going to be available. He came through against Everton Under-23s really well. He played over 70 minutes, you could see he was growing into the game.
‘At the moment where we are is we’re delighted to have Eden here. He’s going to work with the group as he has been doing.
‘We’ve got good relationships with the club and we’ll treat it on a daily basis. If you were going to ask me “would he be available for the Gibraltar game” I would consider that he has got a great possibility.’
