CSKA Moscow star Aleksandr Golovin admits he is ‘pleased’ to be linked with a move to Premier League club Arsenal.
Golovin has impressed for Russian outfit CSKA since breaking into the first-team in 2015, emerging as a target for Arsene Wenger this summer.
CSKA general director Roman Babaev confirmed last month that the Gunners had made enquiries into a possible deal for the 21-year-old, although Chelsea have also been mooted as potential suitors.
Speaking to Sport Express about the interest from English clubs, Russia international Golovin said: ‘Of course, I will be pleased that such a club [Arsenal] is interested in me.
‘In my opinion, every football player, regardless of their age, wants to play in Europe – I’m not an exception.’
Arsenal were said to be on the verge of signing Golovin earlier in the summer for a fee worth over £10million and CSKA chief Babaev revealed scouts from the Emirates were keeping tabs on the midfielder.
Asked whether any bids had been received for Golovin, he told Sport Express: ‘No, CSKA did not receive an offer from Arsenal.

Wenger has brought Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac to north London this summer but remains open to signing an ‘exceptional’ player before the window closes.
Monaco and France star Thomas Lemar is wanted by the Gunners and Wenger is also said to be considering a move for Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez.
