Manchester United fans warned Javier Hernandez against scoring the winner if he makes his West Ham debut at Old Trafford on the opening day of the Premier League season.
The Hammers unveiled Hernandez on Monday evening after wrapping up a £16million deal with Bayer Leverkusen for the ex-United striker, following moves for Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart and Marko Arnautovic.
‘Chicharito’, who scored 59 goals across six seasons with the Red Devils, will return to his former stomping ground when Slaven Bilic’s men play their first game of the 2017/18 campaign.
Hernandez was a fan favourite among the Old Trafford faithful but United supporters begged the Mexican to spare them on August 13.

‘It was not a difficult decision. West Ham is an historic club, and very ambitious – this summer you can see with the players signed that they are looking to have a very good season,’ he said after signing for West Ham.

‘I’ve had three fantastic years playing in Spain and Germany, but England was really the first big chapter in my career and I am so happy to be back.
‘I am desperate for the season to start and to help the team achieve all their objectives.’
Here’s how United fans reacted to Hernandez’s return to England…
