Henry Onyekuru insists he is ‘ready’ for the challenge of the Premier League as he reportedly edges towards a move to Arsenal.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a fine season in Belgium, finishing as the league’s joint-top scorer after netting 22 goals for Eupen in his debut season in the top-flight.

The Nigerian striker has been repeatedly linked with a move to England, previously revealing that Thierry Henry is his idol.

Onyekuru is expected to leave Eupen during the summer and the young forward says he is ‘ready’ for the demands of Premier League football.

‘Everything is possible. Anderlecht, Club Brugge, England … I still haven’t decided,’ he said.

‘I have had fun in Belgium, but I have always dreamed of the Premier League.’

Asked whether he feels he is ready for a move to England, Onyekuru replied: ‘Believe is not the right word. I know I’m ready – I’m sure of that.

‘I don’t want to decide too quickly. Because it’s a decision for life, which is very important for my family and myself.’

Onyekuru has been linked with a move to Everton and Southampton but recent reports claim Arsenal have opened talks to secure a deal.

The Gunners are expected to bolster Arsene Wenger’s options at the end of the season and are said to be considering meeting Onyekuru’s £6.8million buy-out clause.
