Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has hinted he’s not suited to the demands of his new role in Arsene Wenger’s 3-4-3 formation.

The versatile winger has been re-stationed as a right-wing back in a system that has yielded two wins from two games.

Oxlade-Chamberlain turned in a man of the match display, creating the equaliser for Nacho Monreal, as Arsenal booked their place in next month’s FA Cup final with a 2-1 win over Manchester City.

Afterwards, however, he looked far from enamoured with the role he has been asked to perform in his last two matches.

Asked if he enjoyed his afternoon Oxlade-Chamberlain laughed, before adding: ‘It’s obviously an interesting positon for me, it’s new.

‘I have to focus on the defensive side of things and I’m not used to being a right-back

‘Going forward it gives me the opportunity to do the things I’ve been used to doing over the years.

‘The boys have adapted really well. We’ve had a taster of it earlier this week at Middlesbrough.

‘Was it a risk today I don’t know. We did really well with it today against a good City side.’
