Hector Bellerin faces a fitness test ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Stoke City on Saturday and could make his eagerly anticipated first team return.

The Spain international has missed Arsenal’s last six matches in all competitions following an ankle injury he picked up during November’s north London derby as a result of a heavy challenge from Tottenham’s Danny Rose.

Arsene Wenger has been forced to field the likes of Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debuchy and Garbriel with mixed success over the course of the last few weeks but revealed Bellerin has an outside chance of making his return this weekend.

He said: ‘From Tuesday night we have no injuries, I hope. Everyone looks to have recovered well.

‘Coming back into the squad, we have Coquelin who was of course suspended and maybe Bellerin who has a test today.’
