It’s exactly seven days until Manchester United kick off their Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur but with a month remaining in the transfer window, Louis van Gaal’s keen to push through at least two more deals.

The Dutch coach has sanctioned five deals so far this summer but with high-profile departures in the form of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao – as well as the inevitable exit of Angel Di Maria – United need some fresh blood.

The Red Devils have spent over £75million this summer but they’ve got half of their summer budget remaining in order to turn the Old Trafford club into champions next term.

Here’s all the latest transfer talk from Old Trafford:

Pedro tells family he’s joining Manchester United – report

With Di Maria close to sealing a £44.1m move to PSG, Van Gaal is nearing a deal for Barcelona forward Pedro.

And the 28-year-old has reportedly told his family that a deal to move to Old Trafford is practically done, with the speedy winger expected to sign a five-year deal.

Van Gaal complained last week that he didn’t have enough speed or creativity in attack but Pedro – the three-time Champions League winner – will certainly provide that.

Van Gaal instructs Man United board to sell David De Gea – report

Despite the best efforts of those within the club, United are resigned to losing De Gea to Real Madrid this summer.

The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and, after initially telling the Spaniard that he will stay at the club next season, Van Gaal doesn’t believe it’s worth keeping an unhappy player.

It’s led to the Dutch coach informing club vice-chairman Ed Woodward to negotiate a deal with Real Madrid. The Red Devils want £24million for the ‘keeper.

United make £2.8m bid for young Brazilian star Joao Pedro – report

Not content with one Pedro arriving this summer, it seems the Red Devils could have two on their hands next season if Van Gaal gets his way.

The Red Devils have reportedly made a £2.8m bid for Palmeiras defender Pedro, who has been capped six times for Brazil’s U20s.

The pacey defender made 18 appearances for his club side last season and is viewed as one of the brightest prospects in his native Brazil.
