Arjen Robben has ruled out the prospect of joining Manchester United, despite speculation over the summer linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

Robben was tipped to follow Dutch national team boss Louis van Gaal to United during the summer window.

But the former Chelsea man says he has no desire to leave Bayern Munich, especially at such a late stage in his career.

‘I am 30 now, it is not like I want to go to a new league,’ Robben told The Daily Telegraph.

‘I have been in England, I have been in Spain, so I don’t have that desire, but that is all to do with the club I am with now.

‘I am 100 per cent convinced I will stay here for a very long time’
