Antonio Conte returns to his homeland this week to face a Roma side he has struggled against throughout his managerial career.
The 48-year-old has faced the Giallorossi nine times from the touchlines, most recently being held to a 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge in the previous Champions League matchday.
That was Conte's ninth outing against Roma; he has won four, drawn one and lost three in the previous eight. Conte's first managerial test against Roma came as Atalanta manager where he fell to a 2-1 loss.
The following seven all came during the now-Chelsea coach's dominant three-season spell with Juventus which garnered three Scudettos but was twice beaten by Roma.
Conte has never lost more times to a single team than the three defeats to Roma. Even as a player, Conte lost more times (6) than won (5).
The game on Tuesday will mark three years since the Italian made his last appearance at the Stadio Olimpico. The Blues will now battle against Roma for a place in the Champions League knockout stages.
Chelsea have endured an inconsistent start to the season, but appear back on form following a 4-2 win over Watford, 2-1 EFL Cup victory over Everton and Saturday's 1-0 League success at Bournemouth.
A fourth consecutive victory would leave Chelsea five points clear of Roma at the top of Group C, and on course for the knockout stages.
