Tottenham’s new signing Juan Foyth has hailed the club’s attitude to young players as a "wonderful project" after joining from Estudiantes.

The 19-year-old became Spurs' third summer signing, after Davinson Sanchez and Paulo Gazzaniga, when putting pen to paper on Wednesday on a deal running until 2022.

Mauricio Pochettino's side was the youngest in last season's Premier League, with an average age of just 25 years and two months, and Foyth is excited at the opportunities he will be afforded.

"I really like this club. I've always followed it since I was a boy,” the 19-year-old told the club’s media team. “I really like the league. I'm focused and now I'm going to try to make the most of it.

"I also know there are many young players in the team at the moment. I think it's a wonderful project here."

He added: "I think the Premier League is one of the best in the world. It's my favourite league - fantastic and one-of-a-kind.

"The same goes of the Champions League. it's one of the most important cup competitions in the world and having the opportunity to play in both competitions would be like nothing else."

Foyth expects to suit the playing style fellow Argentine Pochettino has instilled at the club

He continued: "I believe my style of play is about bringing the ball out and keeping it on the floor.

“I like individual duels and players taking me on. I'm also fast, so that's what I think I can bring to the team."
