Tottenham are in line for a £4.5million windfall if Gylfi Sigurdsson joins Everton.

Spurs negotiated a 10 per cent sell-on clause when the Iceland international left White Hart Lane three years ago, in a deal worth £6.8m

Sigurdsson was sold to Swansea and, three years on, Spurs are set to profit with the Iceland international moving to Goodison Park for £45m.

£4.5m also represents 66% of the total fee they received from the Swans.

At one stage it seemed they were in line for an even bigger bonus - the Swans initially valuing their player at £50m.

Nevertheless, Spurs’ windfall is similar to the fees they paid for Eric Dier and Dele Alli, who cost £4m and £5m respectively.

The 21-year-old, who plays for Dutch side Ajax, will cost in the region of £27m – with addition add-ons depending on appearances and achievements.
