Chelsea pulled away from top-four rivals Liverpool and Arsenal as they beat Manchester United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Alvaro Morata's second-half header proved the difference as the Blues outplayed their title rivals to move within nine points of Premier League leaders City.

Cezar Azpilicueta provided a fine cross for his compatriot and Morata obliged, leaping high to plant the ball beyond David De Gea.

At Goodison Park, Everton came from 2-0 down in the second half to win 3-2 against Watford as Tom Cleverley spurned a chance to share the spoils from the spot late on.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s table-topping Manchester City remain unbeaten as they head into the international break.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus secured a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at the Etihad, with substitute Alexandre Lacazette scoring for the visitors.

Defeat for the Gunners sees Arsene Wenger’s side drop below Liverpool in the table, with Jurgen Klopp’s side leading the way on goals scored.

Tottenham followed their impressive win over Real Madrid on Wednesday with a narrow victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Heung-min Son hit a decisive, curling effort as Spurs hauled themselves level on points with Manchester United.

Palace did not look like the bottom side as Scott Dann and Wilfried Zaha had good chances to give the visitors the lead either side of the interval.

But Roy Hodgson's Palace have still failed to score on the road this season, losing all six of their away games.

Goals from Mohamed Salah (2), Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave Liverpool a thumping 4-1 victory to push Slaven Bilic to the brink.

Elsewhere, Burnley moved level on points with the top four as Sam Vokes' late strike gave Sean Dyche's side their fifth win of the season at Southampton.

Newcastle were beaten at home by lowly Bournemouth as Steve Cook struck late, while Brighton grabbed a narrow win at Swansea.

In-form striker Glenn Murray scored the decisive goal as the Premier League newcomers moved into the top half with their fourth victory of the campaign.

West Brom are now without a win in nine after a 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield at John Smith Stadium.

Rajiv van La Parra hit the winner as Tony Pulis's men failed to score despite playing 10 men for the much of the second half following Christopher Schindler's red card.
