Jose Mourinho has pointed to Manchester United's own injury woes following news Tottenham will be without star striker Harry Kane on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed earlier on Friday that Kane had suffered a "slight" hamstring problem and will miss the Old Trafford Test.

But Mourinho has highlighted his own depleted squad in the face of the absence of Kane, the Premier League's top scorer this season, in the clash between two title challengers.

“We have no Zlatan Ibrahimovic, no Paul Pogba, no Marouane Fellaini, no Marcos Rojo, no Michael Carrick, so don’t speak to me about Harry Kane," he told reporters.

United are currently level on points with Spurs, though ahead of goal difference, sitting five adrift of pace-setters Manchester City who travel to underperforming West Brom on Saturday.

Mourinho spoke of Spurs' strengths, underlining the stability Pochettino has brought to the weekend opponents.

He added: “They are a very good team, one of the best in the league. They have a fantastic squad, a good manager, stability and years with the same manager, the same players. They are a really, really, really good team.”
