Crystal Palace show ‘concrete interest’ in Oliver Burke as Frank de Boer looks to bolster attacking options

RB Leipzig forward Oliver Burke has attracted ‘concrete interest’ from Crystal Palace according to reports in Germany.

The 20-year-old, who became the most expensive Scottish player of all time when he joined the Bundesliga club for £13 million from Nottingham Forest in 2016, is believed to be surplus to requirements.

German magazine Kicker says that Crystal Palace have revealed their ‘concrete interest’ in the Scottish international who has been compared to Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale because of his superb left foot and the ability to beat opponents at pace.

Palace were beaten 3-0 by Huddersfield at Selhurst in their opening game on Saturday in what Frank de Boer first competitive match in charge, and the Dutchman has limited options in attack.

At present, they are relying on Christian Benteke with Connor Wickham still out injured and having lost Wilfried Zaha for a month with a knee injury, sustained against Huddersfield.

Leipzig are believed to favour selling Burke rather than a loan deal.
