Antonio Conte hopes beard brings Chelsea luck - 'I want to know if my look is attractive!'

Antonio Conte plans to keep his beard in the hope it continues to bring Chelsea good luck - and make him look attractive.

However, the facial hair only lasted a week as Conte conceded that his daughter's assessment of him looking older with a beard was enough for him to shave it off.

But it is back and, with Chelsea having won their last two Premier League games, Conte says his beard is here to stay.

"I think that I want to keep my beard, and understand if my look has improved or not," he told talkSPORT.

"This is the first time I'm trying to keep my beard - it's a good experience for me and, also, I want to understand if my look is attractive!"

Conte will be hoping his beard brings Chelsea further good luck when the Blues play Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Conte will be without his first-choice left wing-back Marcos Alonso for the game, however, after the Spaniard picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in Chelsea's 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.

The Blues boss is expected to rotate heavily for the game, with the likes of Willy Caballero, Danny Drinkwater and Michy Batshuayi set to start against Eddie Howe's side.
