Arsenal have confirmed that Alexandre Lacazette is expected to travel on their pre-season tour to Australia, with the £52million striker set to make his home debut in the Emirates Cup.

The Gunners announced the signing of Lacazette on Wednesday afternoon, smashing their club-record transfer fee to bring the France international from Lyon to north London.

Lacazette has signed a five-year contract, with Arsene Wenger finally landing the marquee striker he has been after since the departure of Robin van Persie in 2012.

Arsenal confirmed details for Lacazette's summer plans and likely debut on the website, with a press release reading: "Alexandre Lacazette has agreed to join us on a long-term contract, for an undisclosed fee.

"He is expected to travel with the tour party to Sydney this weekend and is likely to make his home debut in the Emirates Cup on July 29 or July 30.

"The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes."

Subject to transfer clauses, Lacazette could eventually cost Arsenal £52m - a fee that would make the Frenchman the fourth-most expensive Premier League signing of all time.
