West Ham's season went from bad to worse this evening as Slaven Bilic's side were thrashed at home by Liverpool for the second time in six months.

The Croat's job is under serious threat tonight after his side buckled against an average Liverpool side just 22 weeks after watching his team lose 4-0, also at Stratford, to the same opposition.

West Ham were, once again, simply dreadful in front of the TV cameras - whilst the game was all but over within the opening 25 minutes, as Liverpool scored twice within the space of three minutes.

Incredibly the opening goal came from a West Ham corner, as Liverpool countered with three attackers faced by just ONE defender - who was easily beaten before Mohamed Salah applied the finishing touch.

And the visitors doubled their lead a couple of minutes later when Joel Matip converted a corner, with West Ham still reeling from conceding the opening goal.

Two behind at the break, things got marginally better for the Hammers when Manuel Lanzini produced a clever finish ten minutes after the restart to halve the deficit.

However celebrations were cut short as Liverpool restored their two-goal advantage within 60 seconds when former Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain nipped in to make it 3-1 - just moments after Javier Hernandez was denied a penalty despite a clear push by Alberto Moreno.

Rubbing salt into West Ham wounds, the Reds added a fourth to end any hopes the Hammers may have had as the in-form Salah added his second of the evening.

For Bilic, who has utterly failed to address the team's numerous problems and run of awful results, the end must surely be close - whilst betting on David Moyes succeeding the Croat has been suspended by some bookies.

Meanwhile, for West Ham relegation for the second time in eight years under the current administration is beginning to look like a very real prospect.
