Swansea climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time in three months as Petr Cech’s clanger helped condemn Arsenal to a 3-1 defeat at the Liberty Stadium.
Cech’s scuffed kick allowed Jordan Ayew to roll home a 61st-minute winner after Sam Clucas had put Swansea on level terms, instantly cancelling out Nacho Monreal’s first-half opener.
Clucas claimed his second three minutes from time to finish off Arsenal, who have now gone six games without victory for the first time since December 2012.

Never stopped harrying and hustling the Arsenal defence as his energy and movement gave Swansea a constant attacking outlet. Deservedly capped his night’s work by punishing Cech’s scuffed clearance – his fifth goal in nine games.

One to forget for Cech after Shkodran Mustafi had played a dangerous back pass to him. Cech could see Clucas and Ayew in front of him and he panicked to send his kick straight to the latter. Ayew made no mistake to put Swansea 2-1 ahead.

Clucas’ only previous Swansea goal came against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in October. Not only did he repeat the feat with a first-half equaliser, the goal was remarkably similar to his effort in north London. Clucas accepted Alfie Mawson’s slide-rule pass in the left-hand channel and fired inside Cech’s near post for the second time this season.
