Jurgen Klopp explains why he swore on US TV after beating Man City - and blames Donald Trump!
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has offered up an interesting reason to explain why he used an expletive on US television last week, as he joked that the presence of President Donald Trump made him think the rules of etiquette have changed in America.
A jubilant Klopp was struggling to contain his excitement after his side’s thrilling 4-3 win against Premier League leaders Manchester City when he offered up this comment:
“You can look at the game as a manager and say ‘we could have done this or that better’ or you can look at it as a football fan and say ‘What the f*** was that then? Unbelievable...’”
His slip of the tongue forced US network NBC to issue an apology on behalf of the Liverpool boss and now he has come up with a funny way to explain the incident as he spoke to Sky Sports reporter Rob Palmer.
