Arsenal to break transfer record to land Edinson Cavani?

Edinson Cavani: In big demand

Independent Newsdesk

Arsenal are reported to still be keen to bring Edinson Cavani to The Emirates in a £50m move that would shatter their transfer record.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United were all linked with the Uruguayan striker before the last transfer window and according to The Star the Gunners will renew their interest in January.

Cavani's agent admitted in the past that Arsene Wenger had made an approach in the past and is a known fan of the Uruguayan and PSG team-mate Jérôme Alonzo claims the striker is "sad" at having to play second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Cavani joined the French champions on a five-year contract last summer for a fee believed to be around €64.5 million, making it the sixth largest transfer in history and scored 25 goals in 43 appearances for the French side.
