Hector Bellerin has hit back at a Tottenham fan on social media who mocked him over Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Twitter user @alfiebartram14 posted a video online showing him teasing the Arsenal defender during a traffic jam, chanting: “Champions League and you f----d it up."

Bellerin, who responded to the taunts by raising his middle finger, tweeted in response to the video: “@ me when you win something.”

Arsene Wenger’s side missed out on the Champions League for the first time in 20 years despite a 3-1 victory over Everton on the final day, with Bellerin opening the scoring.

The club's north London rivals Tottenham finished the campaign as runners-up to champions Chelsea and ahead of Arsenal for the first time in 22 years.

Wenger admitted after the final Premier League game of the season that doubts surrounding his future have contributed to an "absolutely horrendous" environment at Arsenal.

"Overall I believe that we played since January in a very difficult environment for different reasons," Wenger said.

"Some obviously that you know about, and that is very difficult for the group of players to cope with that. Some other reasons where we will talk about another day.

"But the psychological environment for the group of the players was absolutely horrendous. I am very proud of what they have done, the way they responded and finished the season."

Arsenal hope to end the season on a high with victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
