The Hornets head to West Brom on Saturday sitting in sixth place and just two points behind champions Chelsea, who are third.

Portuguese coach Silva has impressed during his short time in English football, having been parachuted into Hull as they battled relegation at the back end of last season before taking over at Vicarage Road in the summer.

It is a marked turnaround from the previous campaign under Walter Mazzarri, which finished with six straight Premier League defeats amid talk of unrest within the squad.

Silva, though, believes the change is down to a collective effort on the pitch and at the training ground.

"It is a different atmosphere," the Watford manager said at a press conference.

"In football, the results help a lot but for them to come you need to work really hard and give good answers in the matches.

"In our first meetings (of pre-season) I said to the players that we needed to build something inside our club, the commitment between us and a good dressing room.

"My feeling is that in some moments here in the week and then during matches we are together - and that can make a difference."

Silva added: "We have started to build something important in our dressing room. The commitment I have felt and seen until now is really important."

Watford recovered from their 6-0 thrashing at home against Manchester City by winning 2-1 at Swansea last weekend.

Despite the blow of losing midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah to a knee injury which will require surgery, the Hornets will welcome back defender Miguel Britos at The Hawthorns following a three-match suspension .

Silva, though, knows collecting what would be a fourth successive away Premier League victory will be no easy task.

"We are expecting a tough game, everybody knows when West Brom plays at home that will be the same for everybody," he said of Tony Pulis' team.

"They are strong in specific moments of the match, like at set pieces, and are a really assertive team."

Silva added: "We need to continue to believe in our way and work hard like we have in the past months.

"We have achieved very good results, very good performances away, but now we need to prove ourselves again in a very tough match."
