Frank de Boer takes his place alongside these men with the worst managerial reigns in Premier League history

The Dutchman was sacked by Palace after failing to pick up a single point - or score any goals - in his four games in charge

Frank de Boer has been sacked by Crystal Palace, giving him the double dishonour of being the Premier League's manager with the shortest reign and worst points record.

Palace took zero points from De Boer’s four games in charge and despite a better performance against Burnley on Sunday has been given his marching orders.

That record sees the Dutchman join the pantheon of the ‘Best League in the World’s’ worst managers.

Before De Boer, the manager with the shortest term as a permanent manager at a Premier League club was Charlton Athletic’s Les Reed.

After a shambolic seven league games in charge in which the Addicks picked up just four points, Reed had to be smuggled out of the Valley through a disabled exit following defeat to Wycombe Wanderers in the League Cup. He was unceremoniously sacked on Christmas Eve after losing to away to Middlesbrough – just 44 days into his reign.

It was a low moment for Reed, who had served the club so well on the backroom staff for many years. Nevertheless, he enjoyed success afterwards, moving on to be the Head of Football Development at Southampton and can be credited with building one of the most bounteous academies in English football.

Less can be said for Remi Garde, however, who took charge of Aston Villa in the 2015/16 season with the side already rock bottom of the table. In need of a miracle-worker, Garde’s Villa picked up just 12 points from the Frenchman’s 20 games in charge and were duly relegated - and he was duly sacked. Garde and Villa are yet to be seen in the Premier League since.

But these men are low down in the table of the managers with the worst records in Premier League history.
