Second vs first, red vs blue, Jose vs Pep, United vs City. Sunday is the Manchester derby and it could shape up to be one of the best in recent years.

Manchester City, eight points clear at the top of the table, travel to Old Trafford this weekend looking to practically win the title by Christmas – such the chasm would be between them and United at the top if Guardiola’s side prevail.

However, after their free-flowing attacking football of earlier in the season, they have been pushed all the way to the limit in recent weeks, relying on late goals, and lost their first game of the season to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday. Could United, without the suspended Paul Pogba, steal a win?

If they do then it will surely be a masterclass in counter-attacking football. If they don’t, and City run riot, then we could witness a defeat as devastating as that 6-1 defeat six years ago.
