Everton will hope to put their poor September form behind them and get back to winning ways when they host Burnley at Goodison Park, with manager Ronald Koeman under pressure to turn around fortunes at the Toffees.
A promising summer in the transfer window has delivered little, and run of two wins in nine games – which came against Sunderland in the EFL Cup after extra-time and last weekend’s 2-1 league win over Bournemouth – has seen the Merseyside team fall well short of expectations.
Burnley meanwhile have made a flying start to the season and could consolidate their place in the top half of the table with a victory this afternoon.

5 mins: Everton make a bright start to the game as they control possession, but Burnley hit them on the counter-attack and win a corner for their efforts. The ball is half-cleared before it comes back into the box, and former Claret Michael Keane has to jead away with the pressure still on.
6 mins: CHANCE! Ben Mee is caught out and Calvert-Lewin quickly steals the ball and attacks. He cuts inside to Sigurdsson, but the shot is well saved by Pope.
13 mins: Pickford is drawn into a half-save as the ball flashes past him, and it's been a relatively even start with Everton shading possession but both teams having chances.
16 mins: Sigurdsson has another golden chance to score but as he coils his left leg, Jack Cork steams in and just pinches the ball in the nick of time.
