Crystal Palace travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night for the first league meeting of the season between these two fierce rivals.

The rivalry between the two clubs which are not especially close geographically stems from competition in the third tier during the 1950s and was later fueled by Terry Venables and his team-mate Alan Mullery in the 1970s.

Palace are making some clear improvements under Roy Hodgson's management and their late win against Stoke on the weekend demonstrated their determination to climb off the foot of the table. Brighton have started the season well, however, and the Amex is proving a particularly tough place to visit.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm on Tuesday 28 November at the Amex Stadium.

The fans. The significance of this game might not be entirely obvious to two sets of players from all over the world but this is the biggest fixture of the season for these sets of supporters and they will be desperate to secure victory over their rivals.

Anthony Knockaert. The winger has made a slow start to the Premier League season but has had a more significant impact in recent weeks and looks to have finally settled at this level. He has brilliant ability and will be determined to show it against Palace.
