Man Utd transfer news and rumours: United to battle rivals Man City in race to sign Porto's Alex Sandro

Manchester United will join the chase to sign Porto left-back Alex Sandro this summer, according to reports in Italy.
TuttomercatoWeb claims that the 24-year-old is set to leave Porto in the summer which will alert a number of Europe's big clubs.
United are likely to face competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid for his services.
Sandro is not only known for his versatility and strength at the back, but is also strong going forward.
Another United target - Nigel de Jong - has hinted that he could make a decision over his future in the next few weeks.

The AC Milan midfielder is unsure where his next move lies, but has said he could mull it over and come to a decision by the end of the month.
De Jong said: “I haven’t decided yet and I don’t know when I will make that decision.
“It could be at the end of April or at the end of the season. First of all I want to figure out what Milan’s plans are to get back to being the great club of the past.
“It’s still too early to say where I’ll be playing next term. It could be Milan or another club. There are several options, as I will be a free agent. I’ll take a little time so that I can make the best decision.”
The former Manchester City player is available on a free transfer at the end of the season and Louis Van Gaal is thought to be keen on bringing in a player he knows well from his days as Holland manager.
