Arsenal are considering making a bid for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to ESPN FC.

Seri, 26, has improved immensely since joining Nice from Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira two years ago, and was regularly scouted by Arsenal last season.

Skillful and with a keen eye for a pass, the Ivorian central midfielder would add dynamism to an area of the pitch where Arsenal are high on quantity but perhaps a little low on quality in the ongoing absence of Santi Cazorla.

One complication that could scupper the deal is that Nice will not want to sell the player until after they have played their Champions Leagfue qualifier later this month. Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham are reportedly also interested in Seri, who has a release clause of £36m.

Elsewhere, Neymar's expected move to Paris Saint-Germain is sending various ripples around the transfer market. Firstly, Manchester United are close to signing PSG right-back Serge Aurier for around £27m, according to The Mirror, as the French club look to recoup some of the vast sums it is spending on Neymar.

Serge Aurier
Serge Aurier could be heading to Old Trafford

The main stumbling block is that the Ivorian right-back is currently banned from entering the UK after being found guilty of assaulting a police officer outside a Paris nightclub last September. Aurier you may recall was refused entry to the UK last November when PSG faced Arsenal at the Emirates in the Chmapions League last November.

United should have more clarity on the situation next week, when the defender's appeal against his conviction will be heard in the French courts.

Once Neymar leaves, Barcelona will turn their attentions to Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele and Juventus striker Paulo Dybala, according to The Independent

Philippe Coutinho
Liverpool insist they will not sell Philippe Coutinho

Reports in Spain meanwhile claim that Barca would be interested in taking one of Angel di Maria, Julian Draxler, Adrien Rabiot or Marco Verratti from PSG in a part-exchange deal for Neymar.

Atletico Madrid and France forward Antoine Griezmann is also believed to be a target for Barca.

A move for any of that group would be sweet relief for Liverpool, who are desperate to keep Philippe Coutinho out of the Catalans' clutches.

The latest on that Coutinho's potential switch is the Liverpool Echo reporting that Jurgen Klopp has no interest in a part-exchange deal involving either Rafinha or Andre Gomes

Obscure potential Premier League return of the day

Tottenham are reportedly interested in the former Liverpool forward Suso, who has grown up into an exciting 23-year-old at AC Milan.

Suso was last seen on these shores in the early days of the Brendan Rodgers Anfield era, but reports in Italy claim the Spaniard is wanted by Mauricio Pochettino.

Transfer saga of the day

The Riyad Mahrez to Roma speculation is continuing apace, with The Mirror reporting that the Algerian is ready to force a move away from Leicester.

Roma have already had offers of £20million and £32m rejected for the 2016 PFA player of the year.

Done deal of the day

Kelechi Iheanacho completed his Leicester medical on Tuesday, and his transfer from Manchester City is expected to be confirmed either today or on Thursday.

The Telegraph is reporting that City have insisted on a £50m buy-back option for the player
