Eden Hazard is close to signing a contract extension.
According to the Express, Hazard is set to put pen to paper on a £300,000-a-week deal.
It will make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Hazard.
But the Belgian looks likely to extend his deal with improved terms after the international break.
He is currently under contract until 2020, earning around £220,000-a-week.
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba’s is the Premier League’s top-earner on £290,000-a-week.
Antonio Conte is considering quitting as head coach at the end of the season.
According to The Times, Conte has signalled his interest in leaving Chelsea due to his long-term unhappiness with the club’s board.
The Italian was close to resigning last term before agreeing a contract renewal that did not extend the length of his deal.
Conte told Italian radio last week that he “will be home before long”.
He added: ”I miss Italy, that's beyond doubt, so once I have had some important and life-changing experiences, I will be back.”
Virgil van Dijk could join Chelsea for upwards of £60m, according to The Guardian's Sachin Nakrani.
Van Dijk returned to the Southampton side yesterday after handing in a transfer request over the summer but put in a poor display against Stoke.
On Twitter, Nakrani wrote: "Van Dijk a shambles from start to finish for that Stoke penalty. Poor positioning, odd body shape & lazy challenge. £40m - final offer."
A fan replied: "Final offer rejected then... [Nakrani replied: "Fair dues".]
"I’d put today down to it being his first senior game for nine months. Still reckon he’ll go for £60m+, but to Chelsea."
And Nakrani responded: "Wouldn't be surprised."
