The Belgian winger was back to his brilliant best last term as the Blues won a second Premier League title in three seasons.

And earlier this year he was the subject of interest from Real Madrid, who wanted to make him their latest Galactico signing.

An ankle injury suffered on international duty put paid to the La Liga giants' hopes of snaring Hazard for this summer at least.

And the latest reports suggest Chelsea want to end any lingering doubts about where the 26-year-old's future lies by giving him a wage rise.

According to the Sunday Express, Hazard is poised to agree a new £300,000-a-week contract.

That figure would represent an £80,000 a week increase on his current weekly salary.

And it'd make him the Premier League's highest-paid player on £10,000 a week more than Paul Pogba earns at Manchester United.

Hazard is due to jet off with Belgium for their World Cup qualifying fixtures against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gibraltar.

And the Sunday Express indicate he could put pen to paper when he returns to west London once a few finer details are sorted.

Hazard is currently tied down to Chelsea until the end of June 2020.

And his prospective new contract is likely to extend that stay.
