That’s according to Arsenal legend Martin Keown who says the England international was disappointing - despite bagging a brace.
The Gunners defeated the Belarusian champions 4-2 thanks to goals from Walcott, Rob Holding and Olivier Giroud.
Walcott was handed a rare start by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and staked his claim for a regular role in the side.
He latched onto a tidy Jack Wilshere cross for his first goal before a mistake from BATE goalkeeper Denis Scherbitski handed him his second.
Keown was pleased to see injury-plagued Wilshere get through the whole game unscathed.
But he says Wenger will not be happy with some of the decisions Walcott made tonight.
“Some good minutes I think for Jack Wilshere, who is a great driving force for Arsenal,” Keown said.
“He has something a little bit extra in the locker.
“Bit disappointed a little but with Theo Walcott if I’m honest.
“Some of the decision making in the final third which Wenger won’t be entirely happy with.
“But all in all it’s a good night for Arsenal.”
