The Belgian has yet to feature for the Blues this season after undergoing ankle surgery in the summer.

Hazard did make a successful return from injury while on international duty though.

Conte is said to be wary about rushing the 26-year-old back with amount of big games Chelsea have on the horizon, according to the Evening Standard.

The Blues begin their Champions League campaign against Qarabag at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night and Hazard could be in line for a start then.

Chelsea have a relentless September schedule with seven matches in just 21 days.

Conte will want Hazard to be fit for the clashes against Arsenal and Manchester City in particular.

This is the Belgian’s sixth campaign for the Blues after joining from French side Lille for £32m back in 2012.

Speaking on his target for this season, Hazard explained: “Now I am in good condition. I can improve everything, even the best players in the world have to improve because football is improving every time.

“I can score more goals, make more assists, I can dribble more and understand football more. I can improve in every aspect.

“In the Premier League almost six-seven clubs can win the League. Every week you have to be ready for the fight because every week you can lose.

“If you are ready, you win the game if you're not ready, you lose the game. We will see at the end who is the best team.”
