The Torino strike’s header seemed destined to find the back of the net until De Gea produced an outstanding reflex save.
Footage of the incident quickly circulated among Red Devils fans.
“What a cross! What a save! Both are made in Manchester United,” one wrote.
Another added: “De geas been fantastic today. Darmian’s been quiet but hasn’t done much wrong.”
While a third simply commented: “Filthy cross.”
