West Brom v Stoke: Mark Hughes worried players will be watching McGregor v Mayweather

But it’s not his simmering row with Baggies boss Tony Pulis that might cause him a sleepless night.

He’s more worried about his players tuning in to see the early-hours Las Vegas clash between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.

The mega-bucks showdown is scheduled to hit the screens at around 4.15am while Stoke’s players are in a hotel preparing for Sunday’s clash at The Hawthorns.

Hughes admits he might have his work cut out trying to ensure his players get a good night’s kip.

Hughes said: “We’re going to have to have a conversation about it. Maybe I’ll have to get the wifi switched off at the hotel.

“I’m sure the players have an idea of what they would like to do but that might not fall in line with what I want them to do!”

He added: “We’ve got an important game. Maybe we can record it or something.”
