The French forward signed for the Gunners from Lyon for £52m earlier this summer.
He’s found the net and appears the perfect foil for Arsene Wenger’s side going forward.
He offered something different to the players they already have and with Danny Welbeck back form injury the Gunners have plenty of options.
Gerrard told BT Sport: “They’ve added Lacazette and he looks a real buy.
“They’ve spent a lot of money on him but I’ve watched him a bit this season and he started with a bang.
“His movement in the box is excellent and he only needs one chance to score a goal.
“Arsenal’s problems aren’t going forward, they’ve got Sanchez to add to what they’ve already got, Welbeck’s back fit, Ramsey’s available to go in from the start.
“We always know that Arsenal are going to create chances.
"In the final third they are probably the best team in the Premier League in terms of creating and scoring goals.
“The test for Arsenal as far as the campaign is concerned is can they defend well enough to stay in the race?”
