Jose Mourinho is open to making a fourth signing this summer

The Manchester United boss has brought in Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic this summer.

He’s said all along he wants four new faces but the final piece of the puzzle is proving elusive.

United have been heavily linked with Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale during this window.

Both seem unlikely to move but as the clock ticks down towards the August 31 deadline, Mourinho is ready to pounce should the opportunity arise.

He said: “I don't think we are [in the market], unless something happens to put us in the market again.

“I told (executive vice-chairman) Mr (Ed) Woodward my plans were four, but I also told him be cool.

“No pressure from me, do what you think is best for the club.

“We will be together for another transfer window in January and next summer so there is no pressure from me at all.

“I am happy with the squad we have.

“I am ready to go without a fourth player.

“If we are out of the market, I am fine. I'm ready.”
