Manchester United are still pursuing Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic

Inter Milan have held firm as they look to keep hold of their star winger.

Manchester United have refused to meet the Serie A side’s £48m valuation this summer.

Other players have been targeted such as Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Monaco’s Thomas Lemar

However, the Red Devils have not given up hope of landing Perisic, who Jose Mourinho had identified as a key signing.

According to the Mirror, United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has met Perisic’s agent, Fali Ramadani.

The pair spoke in recent days to try to push through a deal.

And it is said Ramadani also held talks with Inter officials in Milan.

United hope a move can still be agreed for the 28-year-old to move to Old Trafford before the window shuts in a fortnight.

The Mirror add a £39m offer from the Red Devils is still on the table.

Mourinho has managed to get centre-half Victor Lindelof, centre-midfielder Nemanja Matic and striker Romelu Lukaku.

Winger Perisic remains the Portuguese’s only outstanding target this summer.

United’s new-look side got off to a strong start on Sunday beating West Ham 4-0, but Mourinho is still keen to further strengthen his attack.
