Ivan Perisic's agent is set to hold talks with Inter Milan

Fali Ramadani will arrive in Milan by tomorrow at the latest to discuss a contract renewal, according to CalcioMercato, but Perisic could still be sold to United before the transfer window slams shut.

Jose Mourinho is eager to add Perisic to his squad but Old Trafford chiefs are unwilling to meet Inter's €55m (£50m) asking price.

Starsport understands United have been in talks with the Serie A giants for Perisic since the end of last season.

The Croatia international was in terrific form for Inter last term, scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists.

He was eager to push through a move to United but new Inter boss Luciano Spalletti wants to keep him.

Perisic is happy to be seen as a key first-team player and Spalletti believes he wants to stay at the San Siro.

He said: "[Perisic] is determined to remain, he has spoken as a footballer who wants to do well based on his professionalism."

Despite the potential for a new contract, CalcioMercato report that a move to United is not off the table.

If the Red Devils stump up the €55m (£50m) needed plus agree to send Anthony Martial on loan in the other direction, then Perisic could join.

United, who kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 4-0 win at home to West Ham, have made three signings so far this summer.

Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic have all arrived for a combined fee worth around £150m but Mourinho is still on the hunt for a winger.
