Tottenham have failed with a £25m bid for Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon

Despite only turning 17 years old in May, Sessegnon is already an experienced defender and is widely regarded as one of England's top prospects.

He has attracted interest from a host of top Premier League clubs in recent months with Liverpool and Manchester United both known to be keen.

ESPN claim Tottenham have failed with a major offer for the left-back.

While Spurs have played down such rumours, ESPN add that sources close to Sessegnon are adamant that the north Londoners have tabled a £25m bid.

It is said Mauricio Pochettino and co remain determined to secure his signature this summer but will have to up their offer and keep Liverpool and United at bay.

Sessegnon expressed his delighted at committing his future to the Cottagers until 2020 in June.
