That’s according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, who has slammed reports in his homeland that talks are on the cards.

Coutinho’s future has been the subject of intense speculation this summer with Barcelona desperate to get him on-board.

And their interest in signing him has been borne out in the form of two bids worth £72m and £90m - both of which were rejected.

Coutinho has tried to force his way out of Liverpool by handing in an official transfer request, which Anfield chiefs knocked back.

Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho wants to leave Liverpool for Barcelona this summer

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are adamant the 25-year-old will still be on Merseyside rather than in Catalunya come September 1.

And Balague has reiterated their stance on Twitter amid Sport’s claims Barcelona are hoping to hammer out a deal within the next few days.

He said: "1. On Coutinho. No matter what the Catalan press say (48 hours, Liverpool has put a price on him, meetings soon), LFC insist: NOT FOR SALE!

Guillem Balague has responded to claims Barcelona are on course to sign Philippe Coutinho soon

"2. In fact: no meetings planned with FCB, no price has been put on Coutinho, right now LFC do not want to sell."

Balague went as far as tweeting his message in his native tongue, alongside his posts in English.

He added: "Much that is said: Today Liverpool does not sell Coutinho, there are no meetings planned between the clubs, there is no price for him."
