Barcelona transfer news: Sergi Roberto is angry at the Nou Camp

Spanish newspaper Sport claim Roberto's patience with Barca is at the limit after a rough summer.

Manager Ernesto Valverde has barely spoken to Roberto since taking charge and the player has had enough.

Barcelona are set to sign another midfielder in £36.4m Brazilian ace Paulinho.

And that could be the straw that breaks the camel's back and forces Roberto away from the Nou Camp.

Sport claim he could decide to leave this week.

Roberto's pre-season has been punctuated with substitute appearances, with Valverde opting for a midfield three of Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta.

He was on the bench again on Sunday in the Spanish Super Cup defeat against Real Madrid.

Roberto had to settle for just a 20 minute run-out after replacing Iniesta in the 3-1 defeat at the Nou Camp.

The Spanish international has a €40m (£34m) buyout clause in his contract, and Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to pay it, Sport say.

Juventus and AC Milan are also interested in the player, who has made 154 appearances for Barca having come through the famous La Masia academy.

Roberto is said to be particularly interested in a move to the Premier League, though, and his agent has spoken to Barcelona representatives to discuss a move.

The midfielder has another two years left on his deal at Barcelona, who last week were willing to offer the midfielder a new contract at the Nou Camp.

Any new deal would likely increase his buyout clause considerably higher than the £36m fee Barcelona would currently have to accept.

United manager Jose Mourinho is looking for one more addition after admitting he has three of his four transfer targets.

And Antonio Conte is keen to improve Chelsea’s fragile squad.
