Inter have asked for the Frenchman to be bundled into any deal that takes star man Ivan Perisic to Old Trafford.
The San Siro club have demanded £48m plus Martial on loan - but it’s now claimed the player doesn’t want to move to Serie A.
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri wrote on Twitter: “Martial has for now discarded the Inter option. Prefer to stay in Premier if necessary."
Despite Martial not being up for a move, Perisic could yet complete a transfer to Old Trafford.
Inter and United have struggled to agree a fee for the Croatian winger.
A deal has been rumbling on for months, but without any sign of a transfer being sorted.
It was claimed over the weekend that Ed Woodwood re-opened talks with Perisic’s Fali Ramadani over a £48m move after the trail went cold as United focussed on other targets.
Inter manager Luciano Spalletti insists the player wants to stay.
“Perisic is determined to stay,” the Italian boss said.
"There was a moment [when he considered moving], but then he spoke like a footballer who is interested in doing the right thing for his professionalism and he drew a conclusion."
Martial is in his third season at Old Trafford.
He was a big hit in his debut campaign under Louis van Gaal following a £38m move from Monaco in 2015.
The Frenchman top scored for the club in his first season, but struggled to replicate that form under Jose Mourinho last term.
