The Real Madrid star could be forced out of the Bernabeu if Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe joins.

And Jose Mourinho has admitted he will try and sign him if the Spanish giants decide the Welshman is surplus to requirements.

“Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has seen his odds of joining Manchester United plummet from 4/1 to 9/4 as the Spanish giants look to make room for Kylian Mbappe,” said BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion.

“Should the Galacticos sign Mbappe, it would see Bale slide down the pecking order at the Bernabeu and he could become surplus to requirements.

“The Welshman has long been linked with a move back to the Premier League and Jose Mourinho’s side are the frontrunners for the forward’s signature.

“Chelsea are also interested in Bale but have been priced at 10/1 to sign the former Spurs winger.”

Bale struggled to make an impact at Real last season due to injury.

He made just 19 La Liga appearances and started on the bench for the Champions League final in Cardiff.

United are desperate to strengthen their side as they prepare for a title tilt and a return to Europe’s elite competition.

Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic have all made the switch to Old Trafford during the current transfer window.
