Matic completed a £40m move to Old Trafford yesterday.

He’s been drafted in to sure up the base of Jose Mourinho’s midfield and give world-record buy Paul Pogba licence to move higher up the pitch.

And Swansea star Britton thinks United are getting a top talent with plenty still to offer.

“There’s people saying Nemanja Matic is past his best - no chance,” he told BBC Radio Five Live.

“He’s still in his prime, and he’ll give Pogba that licence to get forward and support the strikers.

“I think it’s a really good bit of business by United.

“And I’m surprised Chelsea have let him go with the Champions League this season for them as well.”

Matic is United’s third signing of the summer.

Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku are the other new faces at Old Trafford.
