Chelsea expect to beat Manchester United to Tiemoue Bakayoko

Starsport exclusively revealed last night that the Red Devils had agreed a fee with Monaco for the France international.

The 22-year-old has been heavily backed to join Chelsea this summer but United hope to hijack the deal.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the Blues are confident of landing Bakayoko.

They even say Chelsea hope to land the midfielder before the end of the week.

The Mail add that the transfer fee and Bakayoko's knee injury have held up the move.

The Mail reckon the Monaco star underwent routine keyhole knee surgery, which postponed his Chelsea medical.

The Blues and Monaco are also yet to agree a transfer fee for the midfield maestro.

The Ligue 1 champions want £40m plus add-ons and Chelsea's most recent bid is £37m.

A deal is said to be close and both clubs expect his move to Stamford Bridge to be completed.
