  • The Brazilian has not started a Ligue 1 game for Paris Saint-Germain this season
  • Tottenham have reportedly made contact with the French giants over a deal
  • The London club are keen on a loan but PSG need to balance their books

Tottenham are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Lucas Moura from under the nose of Manchester United.

The Brazilian forward has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes, having struggled to cement a regular place under Unai Emery.

Moura has yet to start a Ligue 1 game this season and L'Equipe claim Tottenham have contacted the French giants over a possible transfer.

Daniel Levy forked out £23million to sign Serge Aurier from PSG last summer. And now, according to the French paper, Spurs are keen to bring Moura to London on loan.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to bolster his attacking options during this window and the Argentine has reportedly identified Moura as a potential target.

But it's believed PSG would prefer a permanent deal as they look to balance the books.

The Ligue 1 giants are wary of falling foul of Financial Fair Play Regulations following the £198million acquisition of Neymar.

Moura, who arrived in the French capital in January 2013, has made only six appearances for PSG all season.

He has expressed an interest in playing in England and, at 25, is keen to secure more first-team action.

Tottenham's attractive style of play under Pochettino could reportedly be a key factor in the attacker's decision.

As reported by Sportsmail earlier this month, United were offered the chance to sign Moura, who was a target for Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012, for £25m. But they are currently pursuing other targets, with Alexis Sanchez expected to sign on Friday.
