Liverpool reject Sevilla offer to take out-of-favour striker Daniel Sturridge on loan for the rest of the season
- Sevilla wanted Daniel Sturridge on loan and offered to pay his £150,000 wages
- He will be allowed to leave Anfield this window if Liverpool get a good package
- Sturridge has not played since December 6 and wants regular football
Liverpool have rejected an offer from Sevilla to take Daniel Sturridge on loan for the remainder of the season.
The England international will be allowed to leave Anfield this window if Liverpool receive a suitable package.
Sevilla, who were interested in Sturridge last summer, proposed to take him for the rest of the campaign and pay all his wages – which can reach £150,000 per week – but this was dismissed by technical director Michael Edwards.

Though Sturridge would not have been eligible for Sevilla's last 16 Champions League tie with Manchester United due to being cup tied, the La Liga side hoped their ability to offer him guaranteed football every week would prove attractive to the 28-year-old.
Inter Milan have also made contact with Liverpool about a possible loan and are admirers of Sturridge, but they are in the same position as Sevilla and have not been able to strike a deal.
It suggests his future will be the subject of increasing scrutiny in the final two weeks of the window.
Sturridge is desperate to start playing again, given that his season to this point has been stop-start; he wants to be included in England's World Cup squad but Gareth Southgate will be unlikely to consider him if he remains on the periphery at Liverpool.

He hasn't played for Liverpool since an 18- minute cameo in the 7-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow on December 6 but, until the club receives an offer that will convince them to do business, they will continue to view Sturridge as a member of their squad with the ability to contribute.
One man who has left Anfield on loan, meanwhile, is Marko Grujic. The young Serbia midfielder was Jurgen Klopp's first signing two years ago but he has struggled for starting opportunities and, in order to gain first team experience, he has signed for Cardiff until the end of the campaign.
Huddersfield were also interested in Grujic but Klopp wanted him to drop down into the Championship where he will be guaranteed to play.
