Crystal Palace have stepped up their interest in Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar.
The 24-year-old has been on the club’s radar for over a year but, with a proposed move for West Ham’s Diafra Sakho stalling, Palace are pushing to finalise a deal worth around £15million.
The Hammers were keen to wrap up a loan deal for the Senegal international, along with the option to sign him permanently next summer.

Palace have stolen a march on West Ham and are willing to pay Babacar's £15m price tag
But it appears that Palace have stolen a march on their London rivals by meeting Fiorentina’s terms in full.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson is keen to bolster his attack this window with Christian Benteke having just the one goal to his name this season.
Babacar has netted six times in 19 appearances so far for the Serie A side this campaign.
Everton’s Oumar Niasse remains another option for Palace while talks over a deal for Ibrahima Amadou from Lille remain at an impasse over differing valuations for the midfielder.
